The FIMITIC Executive Board met in Budapest on January 28-30, 2005 to tackle key issues regarding Tsunami and impact on disabled people, and the forthcoming FIMITIC Delegates´ Conference to take place on October 5-9, 2005 in Nottwil (nearby Luzern), Switzerland, in co-operation with the Swiss member association - procap.The FIMITIC Executive Board met in Budapest on January 28-30, 2005 to tackle key issues regarding

A Conference on equal opportunities for people with disabilities took place on 9-11 December 2004 in Bulgaria. As the European Commission finalised enlargement negotiations with Bulgaria and Romania and set out plans to start accession negotiations with Turkey and Croatia, this event brought together participants from these 4 countries.

DRAFTING OF DISABILITY CONVENTION TO CONTINUE AT UNITED NATIONS:
COMMITTEE NEGOTIATING TREATY ON RIGHTS OF PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES

Delegates drafting the first-ever convention on the rights and dignity of persons with disabilities will continue negotiations from 24 January to 4 February at United Nations Headquarters (Conference Room 4).

Vukovar and Zagreb - Croatia, December 1-4 2004 - As the umbrella organization of persons with disabilities in Croatia SOIH every year on December 3rd is organizing the traditional manifestation called "We are warning and reminding" during which every year come together representatives of organizations of persons with disabilities and local and governmental representatives.

Limassol, Cyprus, December 8-12 2004 - In the frame of the European Union Action 5 program of "Youth" the European Social Forum of Cyprus in cooperation with the FIMITIC member association POAA (Pancyprian Organisation for Rehabilitation of Disabled Persons, Lefcosia) an International seminar was dealing with regional similarities and diversities and bridging opportunities, the challenge of the future generation in the European Union, Education in Sports and overcoming Disability towards Ability on December 8-12, 2004 in Limassol, Cyprus.
