”People with Physical Disability in the countries of South Eastern Europe” in Ohrid, FYROMacedonia, on October 12-15, 2006

FIMITIC, the International Federation of Persons with Physical Disability, more than 50 years takes action to improve the life of disabled people covering a wide geographic area, also in the countries of Eastern and South-Eastern Europe.
The forthcoming FIMITIC seminar on October 12-15, 2006 in Ohrid, Macedonia, in cooperation with its host member association STILM (The Association of Physically Disabled persons of Macedonia) will deal with the position of persons with physical disability in view of the implementation of the UN and EU regulations on the rights and equal opportunities of the disabled, with a special emphasis on implementation of the rules. The intention is to gather the representatives of the disability NGO´ s in the region and develop models of a strengthened regional network and co-operation.

The Seminar takes place under the auspices of the Secretary General of the Council of Europe Mr Terry Davis.
